| Where to Stay: We have blocked out rooms for the weekend at two local hotels, The Residence Inn by Marriott and the Hampton Inn. Both hotels offer exceptional service, excellent rates, and convenience to the UNC campus. The Residence Inn by Marriott- Chapel Hill offers spacious and comfortable suites and has given us a special rate of $139 + tax/night. The Hampton Inn- Chapel Hill is offering us both king and double rooms at a substantial discount. Rooms are available to Fencing Alumni for the weekend for $89 + tax/night. We strongly encourage you to book your rooms soon, as the hotels are filling fast! Be sure to mention that you are with the Carolina Fencing Alumni group to get the special rates! |
| Agenda: Friday, April 11th Arrive at hotels, check in, dinner on your own. At 8:30, head over to The Library, a great bar on Franklin Street with a large dance floor and excellent selection of drinks! Meet new friends and reminisce with old ones! Saturday, April 12th Ron Miller Invitational Fencing Tournament, 9 am until... Dust off your old weapons- or use some of ours- and bust out your skills for the first annual alumni tournament! Foil will start the day, followed by epee and saber! Show everyone why YOUR team was the best to ever pass through Carolina's doors! Following the tournament, we will be hosting a traditional North Carolina barbecue, complete with all the fixin's. Vegetarian options will also be available. The atmosphere will be relaxed and the food will be delicious! Sunday, April 13th Join us on the Chapel Hill campus for a Sunday brunch, hosted by this year's team. After brunch, tours of campus will be offered by the team. See how much Chapel Hill has changed and revisit some of your favorite places in the world! Take off at your leisure. |
